Mercyhurst College awarded degrees Saturday to about 150 master's degree students and adult undergraduates.

Ceremonies took place at the Mary D’Angelo Performing Arts Center on Mercyhurst's campus. Most of the graduates earned master's degrees, but about 50 of them got their undergraduate diploma as adults.

College students are traditionally 18 to 24-years old. Some of the adult students are twice that age or older.

Penn State Behrend also held commencement ceremonies Saturday at Tullio Arena in the City of Erie.

Four-hundred-fifty-nine students said goodbye to college and hello to the real world. The degrees awarded included 412 baccalaureate and 37 graduate degrees.

The entire Penn State system graduated 10,634 students this spring. Speaker Pamela Silver delivered the commencement address. Graduates, family members and friends were invited to receptions following the commencement program.
