100th Birthday Celebration

One Erie woman now knows what it feels like to live a whole century.

Philomena Fabrizio, better known as Florence, turned 100 years-old on May 18th. Her son threw her a big bash Saturday night at the Siebenbuerger Club.

Over 150 friends and family members came from as far as Oregon to celebrate. Even President Bush sent her a card.

Florence worked until she was 80 years-old and has lived in Erie her whole life. She's still able to do a lot of things for herself and she loves to bake.

Florence says she refuses to sit in a rocking chair because, well, they're for old people!
