Gas Price Continue to Climb

Gas prices are continuing their upward climb peaking at a record national average of three dollars and eighteen cents a gallon. That's up more than eleven cents over the past two weeks.

The previous national record was three-dollars and fifteen-cents per gallon set in march of 19-81. One reason for the spike in prices are un-anticipated refinery shutdowns. Several major American facilities that convert crude oil to gasoline are under producing.

The supply slow-down has prompted some in congress to call for an investigation of the industry.

The lowest price for regular gas in the u-s can be found in Charleston, South Carolina. The most expensive gallon of fuel is in Chicago.
