Rape Trial Begins

Testimony in the trial of Willie James Edmond began Tuesday afternoon .

He was arrested in late July of 2006 and charged with rape of a child, sexual assault, unlawful restraint, simple assault and corruption of a minor.

The incident reportedly happened on Newman Street on the City's East Side.

The trial is before Erie County Judge John Bozza.
