watch video
An Erie man accused of publicly abusing his dog was found guilty of cruelty to animals on Tuesday.

District Judge Tom Robie fined Jeffrey Gentile 500 dollars for the cruelty charge. Gentile was also fined 150 dollars on two charges of drunk and disorderly conduct.

Witnesses say Gentile punched, kicked, and threw his yellow lab into cascade creek in April.

Police officers testified that both Gentile and his wife had been drinking at the time.
Mr. Gentile also faces DUI charges for a separate incident.  Gentile's wife, Gail Gentile, says the couple did nothing wrong.

In a separate case, Judge Robie found Gail Gentile guilty of urinating in public. Police say the woman urinated in front of Judge Robie's office on West 4th Street back on April 30-th after a hearing there.

Gentile says she was just pouring out a can of beer.  She was fined 200 dollars.
