Little Italy Groundbreaking

watch video
Ground BreakingA groundbreaking was held Thursday for a revitalization project in the citys Little Italy neighborhood. The project will build and revitalize homes in that area to make ownership easier. The housing and neighborhood development service, or HANDS, and the sisters of St. Joseph have been working together to refurbish old homes and build new ones in Little Italy. Ground was broken for three of those homes Thursday. The houses will be energy-efficient and tailored to single family life. They will include three bedrooms, one-and-a-half baths and a garage. They will also include some yard space for kids to play. Redevelopers said they hope this will encourage people to have a stake in their community.
