New Access Ramp at North Pier

Officials from from the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources along with Presque Isle State Park and the S.O.N.S of Lake Erie dedicated a new fishing access ramp at North Pier.

The project was funded by a special grant from the S.O.N.S of Lake Erie and was dedicated in honor of Peter Yeager, a long time public servant who passed away suddenly in the early 1990's.

The widow of Yeager was on hand at Friday's event to see the dedication.

"its amazing to me that 17 years later Pete has an impact in the area and with the water quality, I'm anxious to bring our children and grand children up to use this fishing ramp cause they like to fish... like he loved to fish. " Christine Yeager-Haemer.

Peter Yeager was a long time public servant with the Department of Environmental Protection and was very active in promoting public access to Presque Isle Bay.
