Ernst Trail Extension to Begin in Crawford County

Oil City - Work on an extension to the Ernst Trail network in Crawford County is scheduled to begin.
French Creek Recreational Trails, Inc. is the sponsor of the project that would add 1.87 miles to the current trail network, extending from the intersection with the current trail to the intersection with Bailey Road in Sadsbury Township.
The work will involve construction of a gravel surface, drainage, fencing and landscaping. Work is to be completed by early spring of 2013.
The contractor is J.C. Lee Construction and Supply Co. of Petrolia, Pa. The contract cost is $601,783, which is to be paid entirely with federal funds.
Trail users might encounter some restrictions in the vicinity of the project during construction.
