watch video

SEPTEMBER 24, 2012-Erie's home of fun and games will be getting a $25 million dollar facelift.

Waldameer Park and Water World is adding more than seven acres of land and buildings.

Owner Paul Nelson tells us he will also be buying the Inn at Presque Isle on Peninsula and Sixth.

Nelson's ten year plan will begin next year by adding a new section of the train station and making way for four to five acres of parking.

In the near future he will also turn the parking lot outside of Water World into a large wave pool.

Nelson hopes these new changes will drive more people to the city from outside of Erie.

The purchase will be finalized on October 2nd.
