Erie Man Headed To Trial For Rape, Assault

An Erie man accused of beating and raping another man will be headed to trial.

37 year old Michael Williams was in court Wednesday for a preliminary hearing.

Erie police say he assaulted and raped a man back in June.

Investigators allege it happened along the Bayfront Parkway near East 12th Street.

Williams faces charges including criminal attempted homicide, rape and aggravated assault.

No trial date has been set.
