watch video
An Erie County judge has been asked to make the owner of a former debt collection agency in town pay more than one million dollars in fines.

The Pennsylvania Attorney General's Office asked that Erie County Judge John Bozza make Unicredit America pay fines after the business was shut down after a November 2010 investigation that found the company to be staging a fake courtroom set up to get people to pay debts.

Former President of the company, Michael Covatto would be the party to pay the fines which cover costs according to court documents.

Judge Bozza has yet to make a ruling.
