Erie County Executive Presents 2013 "Good News Budget"

watch video
For the third year in a row, Erie County has a proposed budget which calls for no tax increase.

County Executive Barry Grossman presented County Council chairman Phil Fatica the $387 million budget which focuses on cost containment.

Although revenue has decreased on state and federal levels the balanced and tax increase free budget was achieved through measures like wage freezes from 2011 and 2012, delaying the filling of positions for 30 days and lien sales.

The budget proposes six positions be eliminated but also calls for the creation of nine positions.

County Council will start to look over the budget, decide on any changes and vote on November 13th.
