Toomey Announces Grant to Dobler Hose
WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Senator Pat Toomey (R-Pa.) today announced that A.F. Dobler Hose & Ladder Company in Girard has received a $44,650 Assistance to Firefighters grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
Sen. Toomey sent a letter to FEMA in July in support of the grant.
"I'm pleased that A.F. Dobler Hose & Ladder has been awarded these much-needed funds," Sen. Toomey said. "They will now be able to replace aging equipment and ensure their own safety as they carry out their critical work protecting others."
Dobler Hose will use the funds to replace aging personal protective equipment, including pants, coats, helmets, hoods, gloves and boots.
"The A.F. Dobler Hose & Ladder Company appreciates Sen. Toomey's support for this grant. This lightweight gear will dramatically improve firefighter safety and efficiency while minimizing potential life and property loss. This grant will enhance the service our firefighters will be able to provide for the residents of Girard, and we are grateful for the senator's efforts in helping to secure this funding," said A.F. Dobler President Roger Schultz.
FEMA's competitive Assistance to Firefighters grants are awarded to qualifying fire departments and EMS organizations to help them protect the health and safety of the public and ensure the protection of first responders.
