Erie County Homicide Count Rises To 10

October 3, 2012 - The homicide count for the year to date is now up to 10 after another Erie man dies as a result of a gun related incident.

Just before 1a.m. Saturday Robert Rudolph was jumped by bystanders in the 600 Block of West 26th Street.

    Police say he was brandishing a gun.

    Rudolph was taken to Saint Vincent Health Center where he died Monday afternoon.

    Erie County Coroner Lyell Cook said he died from lack of oxygen due to neck compression.

What qualifies as a homicide these days? A brief survey of this site indicates way more than 10 gun-related deaths so far this year. Its pathetic to play semantics when people are dying and no one does a thing about it.
