State Trooper With Local Connections Dies In Auto Accident
Pennsylvania State Police are tonight mourning the loss of one of their own, a trooper who spent years working in Northwestern Pennsylvania.
47 year old trooper Blake Coble was killed this morning when his cruiser was involved in a collision with a flatbed trailer truck.
The crash happened around ten o'clock this morning in South Beaver Township in Beaver County.
According to state police, the truck, driven by a Mount Pleasant man, went through a stop sign and struck Trooper Coble's cruiser on the driver's side, trapping the car beneath the truck.
Coble was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.
In the 1990's, Trooper Coble worked for several years at the Corry barracks.
He began his 24 year career at the Lawrence Park barracks. No charges have been filed.
Coble leaves behind two children, ages 6 and 8, and a wife who works with the state police as a communications operator.
