Double Murder Rocks Ashtabula, Ohio
A double murder rocks the quiet town of Ashtabula, Ohio.
Ashtabula police are investigating the double murder of a 40-year-old mother and her 20-year-old daughter.
Our ABC affiliate WEWS out of Cleveland, Ohio says the victims are 40-year-old Asparo "Patty" Torres and 20-year-old Hilda Garcia.
It happened at a home on 5012 Kain Ave.
According to the Coroner, it appeared the 40-year- old mother was shot to death and the 20-year old-daughter appeared to have died from trauma to the body.
They were found dead in separate bedrooms of that home on Kain Avenue.
The Coroner tells us he's not sure how long the bodies were there, but neighbors we spoke to say the two women were last seen on Friday.
Neighbors also tell us the man who lived with the two women was distraught over the summer and attempted to light himself on fire, as well as their garage. Police are investigating his possible involvement in this double murder.
We talked to next door neighbors about this double murder.
They tell us that there had been problems in the past, but they hope the killer is found.
Police reportedly have a suspect in custody, but they are still investigating.
Autopsies will now be completed in Cuyahoga County because they reportedly have better resources.
Those autopsies are scheduled for Tuesday.
