The Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry has released Eries unemployment rates for the month of April.
The unemployment rate rose up to 4.6% in April, after it had experienced previous drops in February and March.
The department claims that springtime gains in construction countered reductions in manufacturing jobs caused by the GAF plant closing.
However, the balance of the increase was due to small movements in various industries.
Meanwhile, Aprils rate looks much better than it was last year at this time as it was almost a whole point less than the 5.5% rate we saw in 2006.
