100 Mounted Supporters Ride in Support of Critically Injured Horse

November 1, 2012 - The Northstar Equine Foundation was formed after the horrific torture of a 6 year old horse named Northstar. While in his pasture in Crawford County, Pennsylvania, unknown suspect(s) doused him with a flammable accelerant and set him on fire. Northstar is undergoing extensive treatment at Ohio State University Veterinary School and is expected to require ongoing reha-bilitative services.
In honor of Northstar, the Northstar Equine Foundation, Inc. (NEF) was born with a dual pur-pose: To serve horses like Northstar who may require critical care, and to become the catalyst to change the animal cruelty laws in the state of Pennsylvania.

Working with our elected officials, NEF will be seeking to introduce legislation that will increase the penalties for animal cruelty, establish an offender database and ensure that animal cruelty enforcement officers have the support necessary to enforce the law.
In an effort to continue fund raising and to educate the public on the current and proposed ani-mal cruelty laws in Pennsylvania, the Northstar Equine Foundation has planned a "RALLY FOR NORTHSTAR" on November 10, 2012, at the clubhouse of Mound Grove Golf Course, 10760 Donation Road, Waterford, PA.

An estimated 100 mounted supporters of Northstar and Northstar's Law will kick off the event by arriving at Mound Grove at 1:00 pm. following a three mile awareness ride from Eriez Speedway.
