The Vietnam Memorial Has Been Delivered

watch video
11-07-12 It was 15 years ago that a group of Vietnam Vets began to talk about a memorial, honoring those from Erie County who gave their lives for our country while fighting in Vietnam.  Today, that dream is one step closer to reality.

The Vietnam Memorial that will stand in Memorial Park at Glenwood Park and State Street was delivered Wednesday morning.

The 8 foot tall, 21 foot long memorial was unloaded one section at a time and will be constructed over the next few days. Workers laid the foundation for the memorial last month, but to see it actually being delivered was exciting for the veterans.
An unveiling ceremony will be held Monday morning at 11am.  Several speakers and veterans will be on hand.  The unveiling of the memorial is open to the public.
