NOVEMBER 19, 2012- Nintendo released its newest gaming system just in time for the holiday season.

Today, the gaming system is sold out at stores across Erie County, but reviews have been mixed.

Gaming experts say the follow-up to the first Nintendo Wii has drastic improvements-including high definition graphics, more memory and a faster operating system with wi-fi.

"Man what isn't there to say about the Wii U. you've got the whole new set up. It's finally in HD coming with the HDMI cable," says Best Buy sales consultant Matt Michaels

Gaming experts say the Wii U trumps any smart phone gaming application, and it reenergizes the gaming market.

"They've taken cues from phone game play and wanna make it interactive with the games," Says Michaels.

Experts say the big draw this year is the Wii U game pad.  The game pad is all touch screen and it acts as both a controller and a TV remote.

"Biggest benefit for parents.  Kids playing games all day gotta watch your news and sports. You can take game playing on screen and put it on game pad and still play like nothing ever happened," says Michaels.

Sales may be high, but in store reviews have been mixed.

"I like the original will better still," says Kalean Miller.

"There's like a touch screen and it also connects to regular Wii and I don't know which to use," says Philip Johnson

Cindy Cratty's son pre ordered the system months back and says he has been more than satisfied.

"Yeah I didn't see him at all last night. He stayed downstairs with his friends and girlfriend and he was downstairs when I first woke up."

The system also comes in a deluxe and regular version.

The deluxe has more storage space and costs around $300 dollars.
