Donald Bement of North East is a veteran of the Army's famed 82nd airborne division.
In December 1990, while serving in operation desert shield, an accident cost him his arm and leg.  But h has never let that slow him down...
After rehabbing... This husband and father of three came home and joined the local fire department. He also became the first double amputee to repel off the New River gorge bridge ... And tried to re-enlist in the army not once, but twice after the 9-11 attacks. U-s army veteran donald bement ... This week's hometown hero.
