Good Kid 12/04/12
Every week we feature a kid in our community doing something good.
This week Traci Teudhope takes us to the softball diamond where our Good Kid and her peers are hitting homeruns for hunger.
((Take pkg))
"Swinging, cheering, bat crack, something fun!"
Emily Luteran, 17 yrs old: "Our favorite thing is playing softball, so we just decided to raise money for a local cause."
That cause, feeding the less fortunate.
Sue Luteran, mom: "She's just always giving to people really selflessly."
Seventeen-year-old Emily Luteran has appropriately deemed her project, Homeruns for Hunger!
Sue Luteran: "Here's a child who can see there are people around us that have far less than we have."
Traci Teudhope: "It is cold out here, but Emily and her friends are dedicated to hitting homeruns for hunger."
Emily: "It makes me feel good. A lot of hard work went into this, and it was frustrating at times, but after it's over. It makes me feel good."
Traci:
"Emily got a little help from just about everyone, students, teachers even I took a swing at it."
Traci: "Give me a really pretty one."
And when it was all over, it was a true homerun, especially for the City Mission.
Emily: "It's amazing. I'm just really proud of my school for rallying around us and helping those in need."
