December 4th, 2012

Plans are in the works to replace a Crawford County bridge that's been closed for more than five years.

The plans for the new Mead Avenue Bridge in Meadville will be on display next week.

The bridge spans French Creek, connecting Meadville with Vernon Township.

For the people who own businesses in the area, the news of a plan to rebuild by 2014 comes as welcome news.

The bridge was closed in 2007 after a failed inspection. If all goes as planned, the new bridge will be ready to cross in the fall of 2014.
