Students At BMC Fine Tune Their Boat Building Skills

12-6-12  It won't be long before several students with the Erie School District will be able to row, row,  row their boat.

The students are part of the Bayfront Maritime Center's Community Rowing Program and are building a St Ayles Skiff, a multi person rowing boat.

Boat building at the Bayfront Maritime Center is based upon hands-on and applied academics where students can build these vessels with traditional tools as well as state of the art equipment.
The skiff is the backbone of the Community Rowing Program, a program that encourages the public to become more involved in rowing and boat building.

The finish date for this 22 foot skiff will sometime in late spring or early summer.

Community members or students who would like to row or have rowed in the past are invited to join the Community Rowing Program at the Bayfront Maritime Center at 40 Holland Street
