Local Author Celebrates Latest Book Release on Trains

     DECEMBER 9, 2012- Local author and train enthusiast Ken Springirth celebrated his latest book this afternoon.

Springirth talked about his latest took, honoring the New York Central Railroad, this afternoon in the Blasco Library's Admiral Room.

The book is a photographic history of a unique railroad that was known as the "Water Level Route" because most of its major routes, including New York via Erie to Chicago, followed rivers and had no major grades.

     Springirth is the author of 19 books on railroads and trolley car systems.
