Gas Prices Continue to Drop

December 10th, 2012

As you prepare to travel for the holiday, or if you'll just continue to fuel up for your day to day commute, there's good news. Gas prices continue to drop.

The average price of gas has dropped 10 point 5 cents per gallon in the last week in Erie.

The national average fell 4 point 8 cents.

Although the price at the pump is dropping, the national average is still 5 point 5 cents higher per gallon than it was a year ago.

The AAA regional director says there are two main reasons gas prices are plummeting.

The first reason is declining demand.

The other reason is we're seeing the highest inventory in the last 7 and one-half months.

Prices yesterday were still 21 cents per gallon higher than they were a year ago.
