Good Kids 12-10-12
Sometimes it doesn't take much to brighten someone's day.
That's the simple lesson this week's Good Kid has in store for us.
Traci Teudhope introduces us to a 9 year old who simply makes life worth living.
((Take pkg)).
((Nat sound of washing dishes))
Skylar Smith, Good Kid: "I help her clean, do the dishes. I make her breakfast."
And that's not all. Nine-year-old Skylar Smith also helps her grandma turn on her oxygen, keep her sugar levels regulated, and keep in good spirits.
Harriet Hanson, grandma: "She just does so many extra things for me that so many times I could've given up and she keeps me going."
Just seeing them together for a few moments, you can immediately see the love they have for one another.
Skylar: "Cuz she's the best grandma."
And that just melts this grandma's heart.
Harriet: "Good, good to think I have a 9 year old grandchild that cares so much when I get down. I think of all the things she does and it keeps me going."
No doubt. This is a pretty special bond.
Harriet: "Her and I are very close, but I never thought I could see a child that does what she does."
And why all the fuss?
Skylar: "Because I love my grandma."
