Activist Seeks Approval for Charter School
One community leader wants to help put an end to the violence by working with the school board in hopes of creating a charter school.
Bishop Dwayne Brock tells us the Eagles Nest Charter School would be a school that children grades K through 5 would reside five days a week.
Right now, he is looking to take over the Roosevelt School for the new location at 23-hundred Cranberry Street.
Brock says he's been negotiating with the Erie School Board for a year and at their meeting later on this evening, Brock will be looking for approval for his charter school.
The meeting will take place tonight at 7 pm at East High School. If approved, Brock hopes to open the school in August of 2013.
