Should Teachers Be Allowed To Carry Guns In School?

December 19, 2012

In light of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting... A proposed legislation in Texas asks the question, should teachers be allowed to have guns in the classroom if they have their permit?

Would allowing teachers with a permit to carry guns in school protect their students more?

After the devastating shooting of 20 kids and six adults at Sandy Hook in Newtown Connecticut...

Representatives in Texas want to propose a new bill that would let their teachers carry weapons in their classrooms, of course with the proper training and background checks.

We wanted to hear from you, and the only answer we got on this issue was teachers should never have guns in the classroom.

But County Sheriff Bob Merski has other options.

He says they already have armed deputy sheriffs in four local schools that give both parents and teachers peace of mind.

I'm for the Teacher's being trained in carrying guns, if they had, had that in Sandy Hook, who knows how much wouldn't have taken place, especially when you have a Principal who dashed TOWARD where the noise was coming from, and Teacher's guarding Children with their OWN lives!! They had them in the olden days, they couldn't wait for a Sheriff to arrive on his horse to help them, they helped themselves! And if there are some Teacher's willing to learn the proper way to handle a gun, I say, let them! It's turning out like the "Wild West" once again, and OUR Children need protecting!!

It's not the guns or gun owners that we need to be concerned about, we're the sane ones. It's these syco, unstable anti gun nuts like Captain M that we need to worry about. People like this are doing all of the mass shooting around the country.

I think a better question is whether Texas should be allowed to remain part of the USA or granted its independence as a separate republic like it used to be. From the state that gave us the Bush family, we don't need you anymore or your gun toting teachers. Guns don't protect people, they only destroy. Guns don't make our children safer, they only kill them. Shoot em up wild wild west mentality for our schools? Is this some kind of a sick joke?
