Erie Sunflower Club Makes Record Breaking Donations
DECEMBER 19, 2012-
On Wednesday evening the Sunflower Club donated $39 thousand dollars to 13 different charities... Each charity receiving $3 thousand dollars a piece.
Some of those charities including American Red Cross, Emmaus Ministries, Second Harvest Food, and the Erie City Mission.
With more than 4,000 members strong, the club's mission is to help those in need.
The night was also dedicated to the Kanzius Cancer Research Foundation.
Over the past 51 weeks the Sunflower Club has donated more than 100 thousand dollars to them.
Mark Neidig of the foundation was on hand sharing Kanzius' recent research findings to the generous members.
Members say they have been able to raise so much money thank to the gambling fund and private donations.
