Veteran Journalist Named Co-Anchor of JET 24 Action News

December 20, 2012-  A familiar face in Erie has been chosen to join the anchor desk at JET 24 Action News, Your News Leader.

JET 24/FOX 66 VP/GM Tim Dunst and News Director Lou Baxter jointly announced the appointment of veteran broadcast journalist Jill McCormick as co-anchor of JET 24 Action News at 5, 5:30, 6 & 11pm.  She will join Sean Lafferty at the news anchor desk Monday through Friday.

McCormick has been reporting for JET 24's Good Morning Erie and FOX 66 News since December of 2011, and has been seen many times on the JET 24/FOX66 anchor desk over the past 12 months.  She will begin her new daily co-anchor duties on January 2.

The new co-anchor is no stranger to Erie TV.  McCormick has been on Erie television for nearly two decades, having previously anchored morning shows at the NBC and CBS affiliates. Before that she worked as a news producer and executive news producer in Denver, Co and Fort Wayne, In.   McCormick is a graduate of Ball State University, a licensed real estate agent, and is the mother of four children.

"She brings to our newscast 22 years of TV news experience, credentials from major market television, and yet the familiarity of an old friend or your next door neighbor" said Baxter.  He added, "Jill is everything our viewers are and can relate to all who watch JET 24 Action News."

GM/VP Tim Dunst said, "Jill is a true professional with many years of experience both in front of the camera and behind the scenes".  He added, "We are proud and excited about the anchor team of Sean Lafferty and Jill McCormick on JET 24 Action News beginning January 2."
