Former Mercyhurst Prep student-athlete & Erie Native will be running a two-day Winter Skills Academy/Camp on January 12th & 13th at the Family First Golf Dome for participants 9-13 & 14-high school seniors. Saturday, the 12th will be from 1pm to 5pm, while Sunday will be 9am-1pm. Participants will be fed both days.

After a four-year football & basketball career at Mercyhurst Prep, Jovon attended the University of Iowa, where he was an All-Big Ten selection, while setting numerous university records for the Hawkeyes. Following his stellar career at Iowa, Jovon signed and played with the Pittsburgh Steelers of the National Football League. Since then, Jovon has established himself as one of the top defensive backs in the Canadian Football League and one of the most lethal return men. In 2011, Jovon made CFL history by being the first defensive back to ever win the Most Outstanding Defensive Player award (Defensive MVP) since the League was founded in 1958.

Jovon will be joined by other former Erie High School, Collegiate, & Professional stars to direct the camp, teaching participants elite fundamentals & skills. The fee for the camp is $50.00. Each participant will receive a Camp T-Shirt, free tickets to both Erie Explosion & Erie Express games, & more. Participants will have the opportunity to get autographs throughout the camp & will receive autographed memorabilia from the coaching staff. 

Interested participants can register at www.jovon2johnson.com. They can submit the $50.00 camp fee with PayPal, a Credit Card, & select Debit Cards. There will be a $2.00 processing fee, additionally. All participants must be 9-13 or 14-High School seniors.
