The slopes are open and it's all downhill from here at Peek 'n Peak in Clymer, New York.
It might be later than hoped, but Mother Nature has co-operated just enough to allow the Peak to open 7 of its 27 slopes. Just in time for the Christmas holiday.
It's one of the busiest times of the year at any ski resort. Right now the Peak has 4 to 18 inches of base.
Nick Scott Jr.: "Every day we're gonna blow snow. We hope to have 22 slopes open by Christmas and that week."
This is the second ski season Scott Enterprises has owned the Peak. They've invested heavily in the resort.
New this ski season, are 108 newly renovated guest rooms in the Main Lodge.
An expanded terrain park, and for those feeling a little daring, a new jump bag.
People come to the peak for all sorts of reasons
Joe Hresko: "We have a big trip planned ... no skiing at all."
Alane preston: "I like it ... always enjoyed the Peak."
Nick Scott Jr.: "This snowfall....enjoying the slopes."
Lou Baxter: "But if downhill skiing isn't your thing, Scott Enterprises has you covered. You can always take advantage of another popular winter attraction, Spalsh Lagoon and Water Kark, where it's always 84 degrees. Lou Baxter, Jet 24 Action News."
Also in western New York, Holiday Valley Ski Resort has opened 6 of its 58 slopes for the season.
