December 27, 2012

One man was pulled out of his home after an early morning blaze...     We talked with Franklin Township Fire Chief Jim O'Hara at the scene this morning, he tells us the man lived alone, but luckily a passerby spotted the flames and called the police.

The flames broke out in a trailer home a little after 5:30 this morning at Route 98 and Crane Road in FranklinTownship...

We're told five fire companies including Edinboro and FranklinTownship rushed to the scene this morning...

Officials from the Edinboro fire department were the ones who actually pulled a middle aged man out of this burning home... That man, who's name is not yet been released has been transported to UPMC Hamot.

O'Hara tells us the man lived alone with his three dogs... All but one made it out alive.

According to fire officials, they had the blaze out within ten minutes... And they believe it started in the living room...

As you can see, the outside of the house remains in tact, but officials say unfortunately the inside was a total loss.

At this time the man's condition and the cause of the fire are still under investigation by a State Police Fire Marshal...

Crews tell us this is a devastating event to have happen right after Christmas.
