In just a few days, an Erie school will close its doors for good.
Although many students and parents are happy to see run-down Roosevelt middle school no longer in use, others are sad to see a piece of history go.
Erie City Councilman Pat Cappabianca served as principal of the school from 1972 until 1987.
Through his fifteen years, Cappabianca has seen the facility go through a number of changes.
He says the building has always housed a strong staff and hard-working, disciplined students.
The former school leader agrees the building needs torn down, but hopes it will someday be reconstructed.
