January 2, 2013 - Erie City Council held its first meeting of the new year, appointing a new leader and taking care of business.

Jim Winarski was appointed by council to be president through 2013.

It's Winarski's fourth year on council.

Meanwhile, council members heard from officials who are seeking re-zoning of property located on East 12th Street.

The change would be from light industrial to heavy industrial so McInnes Rolled Rings can expand.

They would like to expand within 5 to 10 years.

Council will vote on the re-zoning at its next meeting set for January 16th.
