Millcreek Township to Upgrade Warning Lights
Millcreek Township will soon update warning lights for emergency vehicles thanks to a grant.
Millcreek Township supervisor Joe Kujawa says the township wants to install 100 new warning lights, known as Relco lights.
Relco lights are at intersections so emergency vehicles approaching the intersection can pass through safely.
When the lights are flashing, it's the law for drivers to move to the right.
The money for the Relco lights is coming from the Erie County Gaming Revenue Authority.
It's a grant for up to 100 thousand dollars that will allow Millcreek to purchase 20 Relco lights.
Each unit costs 4 thousand dollars and another one thousand dollars to install.
However, because Millcreek has a traffic department, they will not need to pay to have them installed.
