A reporter familiar to the Erie area has been arrested for contempt of court.

The Cape Coral police department in Florida arrested Fox 4 News reporter John Rupolo Friday morning for violating a domestic violence order of protection.

The southwest Florida Fox affiliate said in a statement: "Mister Rupolo is no longer employed by WFTX, and we have no further comment regarding this issue."

47-year-old Rupolo, who joined WFTX in 2010 after working here in Erie, posted a $15,000 bail on the misdemeanor charge of contempt of court.

He's set to go back before a judge next month.

This man was a true sociopath and danger to all women. His abuse of steroids over the past 25 years just exacerbated the situation.
