First Responders Learn New Methods
In an emergency, every second counts, and today emergency responders took part in a training course to help organize our local resources in the event of a major emergency.
The Department of Homeland Security-certified program is a traveling seminar, designed to increase preparedness in the event of an emergency or disaster.
Events that could warrant the need for heavy resources in our area range from severe flooding or tornado clean-up, to snow or hazmat emergencies.
The goal is how to make resource management more efficient.
Emergency management representatives from several counties attended the course.
