Lake Erie Dental And The Station Dinner Theatre go up in flames.
Around 5:30am this morning firefighters were called to the intersection of West Gore Road and Washington Ave. To check out some downed power lines. But fire crews found more than just some down wires.
They found fire quickly spreading through the Lake Erie Dental office, and strong winds causing even more damage to the surrounding area.
Dan Hesch, the deputy chief of Kearsarge fire department, says the fire may have been caused by the explosion of propane tank. Hesch described this morning's events as having a domino effect: one thing happened after another. A tree fell down on some power lines and embers traveled through the air across the street and started fires on Washington Ave. One home's garage was severely burned. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Blowing embers may have been the cause of the fire that started on the roof of the Station Dinner Theatre, which is located next to Lake Erie Dental.
The fire took about four hours to extinguish.
Hesch says the workers at the County Fair gas station (right next to where the fire took place) were extremely helpful to the firefighters, providing them with coffee and water.
