Crawford County District Attorney Wants Juveniles Charged as Adults

January 21st, 2013

Also continuing coverage tonight of a story we first reported last week out of Meadville.

Crawford County District Attorney Francis Schultz says he is now asking the court that a juvenile, charged with severely beating a man on News Years Day, be tried as adult.

The beating took place at the corner of North and Liberty Streets in the city of Meadville.

The victim was seriously injured.

Two juveniles were charged, one 15 the other 16.

Schultz says the 16-year-old suspect's history of committing delinquent acts, his inability to change his behavior, the severity of the charges and the impact on the victim, causes him to believe that this case must be handled in adult criminal court,
