Crews Continue Searching For Water Main Break

-->

January 24, 2013 -

It looks like another night for thousands of Erie Water Works customers to have little or no water pressure.

It's been a roller coaster ride for workers with the Erie Water Works. They thought they had the water pressure problem solved,  but late Thursday afternoon word came from Water Works CEO Paul Vojtek "Erie Water Works has experienced another unexpected problem. Pressures have dropped back down so crews are looking for another break."

Workers thought they had the problem solved after isolating a water main problem south of the Erie Zoo. A leak along Upland Drive and one along Cherry Street Extension have been repaired but that apparently did not solve the problem.

Vojtek says the break they are looking for is believed to be in the area between Mercyhurst and Davidson road.

Vojtek says once the problem is located and clamped off, water pressure will return to normal almost immediately for customers.

He says they hope to have things improved by morning.

I'm positive that not ONE of those workers likes being out in the freezing cold working with a WATER break, can you not imagine how so VERY cold they all are? Buy yoursleves a few gallons of water and use it to wash with, do you actually think they don't want to find the leak and fix it already? Stop complaining and do something for yourselves already, and I really don't think it would go any faster if one the Exec's lived there either...Baby, it's COLD outside!!!

Although this is very inconvenient, they are trying to resolve the problem. I could not imagine having to be in the cold trying to find this problem.

Really tired of this - can't shower, flush toilets for 2 days...if one of the executives lived in this area and didnt have a shower for 2 days - I am sure it would be fixed.
