Melting Snow Causes Some Driving Problems

January 29th, 2013

A week ago today it was a different story, as we saw white out conditions. Today it was in the 50s and raining.

The heavy rains combined with warm temperatures melted snow causing some problems for driving throughout the area. The east bound lane near the intersection of West 38th and Imperial Streets was flooded.

We had 16 point three inches of snow fall last Monday, making it treacherous on the roads.
All of that snow is nearly gone because of the roller coaster temperatures we're seeing, but they won't stick around.

Meteorologist Tom Atkins says last year, as we all know, we saw a warmer winter.
This year though is more of a freeze-thaw winter, with this being our second thaw.
