Hundreds Attend Gun Owners Town Hall Meeting

    JANUARY 30, 2013-Firearms owners are fired up over a possible change in legislation prompting hundreds to attend a town hall meeting tonight in Mckean.

    It was shoulder to shoulder standing room only as more than 300 people filled the shooting range for the town hall meeting at Bob's Gun Shop.

    A majority of those in attendance were gun owners.

    Some worried their second amendment rights would be stripped away following Senator Dianne Feinstein's proposed legislation to ban 157 makes and models of military-style assault rifles, pistols, shotguns and semi-automatic weapons.

    Congressmen Mike Kelly and Glenn Thompson were also on hand taking questions and speaking out about legislation and sandy hook.

    Kelly praised the crowd for exercising their first amendment rights and called on the crowd to say enough is enough.

    Thompson hinted that a ban on weapons is uncalled for saying it's a behavioral and mental health issue, not a gun control issue.

    Both supporters and those who want a change in legislation attended, but the overall town hall meeting was peaceful.

You go Zack ! The fact that you can fantasize about being in an elementary school with a concealed weapon qualifies you for some risperdal and electroshock therapy. Where were you and the hundreds of other militia freaks when 10 people were murdered with guns in Erie last year? Where were the protests when John Gillette or Richard Burchik were gunned down. You aren't heroes, your fanatical obsession for weapons and misperceived patriotism is part of the problem

@Captain M. - Whats sickening is your comment. Our entire nation mourned the loss of those beautiful souls. Flags where flown at half mast, and moments of silence where observed across the country. If you dont think one of those people who attended last night would have traded their own life for the lives of those children, then your are the one with the mental health issue. If I would have been in that school, I would have not given it a second thought to draw my weapon and sacrifice my own life for others.

It's sickening that this many people won't come together to protest when innocent children, first responders, or teachers are victims of gun violence. Thompson doesn't get it that the mass paranoia exhibited by this mob and their craving to possess weapons designed only for mass killing is already an obvious mental health issue.
