No New McDowell Sends Letter to Dept of Education

JANUARY 31, 2013- On the heels of the Millcreek School Board approving Superintendent Michael Golde's paid leave and releasing an audit of district finances, a local group is taking action.

Members from the group no New McDowell met tonight at the MillcreekTownshipBuilding.

No New McDowell officials released a 22 page letter to the Pennsylvania Department of Education.

The letter includes 4 demands to correct the problems relating to the MillcreekSchool District:

First, asking for a public hearing from the Department of Education.

Second, a suspension of construction projects in the district.

Third, a comprehensive investigation of school district management.

Fourth,an amendment to regulations on spending laws.

No New McDowell members say they have also reached out to local legislators and plan on taking the issue to Harrisburg.

Comments

A new McDowell would be an important investment in the future. The people opposed are short-sighted and ignorant, just like the people who blocked Harborcreek from building a new elementary school.
