Rental Inspection Ordinance Extended
Erie City Council voted today to extend the Rental Inspection Ordinance.
The ordinance will be in effect until 2017.
The program was initially created to keep up with health and safety concerns.
A few issues council says they are working on is the appeals process as well as how much the ordinance oversees what landlords are doing.
Councilwoman Jessica Horan Kunco says council will still work on ways to not become too aggressive when enforcing landlords to do things they aren't capable of doing.
