February 8, 2013 - At a special meeting Thursday night, the Millcreek School Board, along with the district solicitor, announced Michael Golde's administrative leave for personal reasons is a leave for medical reasons.

It was approved by the board, but Mike Kobylka voted no saying it wasn't the best deal for the tax payers.

This situation puts assistant superintendent bill hall front and center.

"I don't have an official title; I'm the assistant superintendent just picking up some additional duties right now," said Bill Hall, MTSD Assistant Superintendent. "As things play out and the dust settles I think those decisions will be something the board is going to have to make decisions on."

Mr. Hall tells us that this isn't the position he thought he'd find himself in but he's ready to move the district forward.

"It didn't play out the way I had thought it was going to play out," Hall said. "I'm perfectly comfortable serving this district in any capacity. It's a good district; it's a great place to be"

District officials also said Thursday the transfer of $5 million from the capital reserve fund to the operating fund was not approved by the board.

Mr. Hall says it wasn't the right decision.

"In hindsight it was a mistake, something we shouldn't have done and we recognize that," Mr. Hall said.

Some are wondering, with Mr. Golde out of the district, where does the McDowell consolidation plan stand?

Mr. Hall says they have been and will continue to consider all their options.

Mr. Hall says he would be more than interested and willing to be the next superintendent.

He's been in Millcreek since July of 2009.

He came from the Oil City School District.
