Recent Fire Shows Importance of Working Smoke Detectors
A recent fire in Greene Township is a reminder of how important smoke detectors are.
The family got out of their home on Sampson Road thanks to working smoke detectors.
Erie's chief fire inspector Guy Santone says smoke detectors can be the difference between life and death.
Santone says they're rather inexpensive and should be in every home.
Thanks to a grant, the city of Erie is able to give away smoke detectors to city residents.
