FEBRUARY 18, 2013- In parts of the U.S., fresh water or the lack of it is becoming a real issue.

It's called water tension and many locales out West that are experiencing a shortage of water are looking to divert water sources to help keep their supplies viable.

The Great LakesBasin is one of the sources they are eyeing up.

Tonight author Peter Annin spoke to a large crowd at BehrendCollege about the issue.

The informational lecture talked about topics including the Great Lakes compact and how diversion of water from upstream sources could affect the southern section of the basin an area that includes Lake Erie.
