February 21, 2013 - Seventeen local school districts will be given improperly held funds from the northwest Tri-County Intermediate Unit.

At a meeting Wednesday night, the IU Board voted to fairly distribute more than $9 million.

The Erie School District will be given $1.2 million.

Superintendent Dr. Jay Badams says the money has been previously allocated.

"We budgeted this as one time money that we anticipated in the 2012-2013 budget," Badams said. "Unless there's something that comes in that's beyond what we budgeted, this is already spoken for cash."

The payments will be made to the districts on or before March 1st.
